Buyer Info

Buying a pre-owned firearm from a private party is a nice freedom we enjoy in our country. And the overwhelming majority of private party gun sales are completed safely between two responsible parties. To assure your transaction is completed safely, whenever buying a gun from a private party you should follow some simple rules.

  • Read, agree and abide by our Terms of Use
  • Always arrange to meet the seller in a public place, preferably a local gun store.
  • Meet only during daylight hours.
  • Bring a 2nd person with you if possible.
  • Use a simple bill of sale and include the serial #, and both party's information, and have a copy for each party. Samples can be found on the Internet.
  • Make sure firearms have a serial number and record it on the bill of sale.
  • Use your instinct. Talk to the seller on the phone, and if things seem a little shady to you, you can always politely pass on the transaction.
  • Always be kind and curteous to the other party.
